Gala Has Generated More Than $11 Million for Children’s Charities

November 12, 2009- WASHINGTON, DC – “A Nite to Unite for Kids,” the ESA Foundation’s 11th annual fundraiser for children’s charities, raised $800,000 this year, the ESA Foundation announced today. The proceeds from the black-tie optional dinner, auction and charity casino night will enable the ESA Foundation, the computer and video game industry’s philanthropic arm, to improve the lives of American children through grants to a wide variety of organizations.

“This outpouring of support from the video game industry this year brings the total giving to the ESA Foundation to $11 million,” said ESA president and CEO Michael D. Gallagher. “This generous giving allows the ESA Foundation to support some truly compelling charitable organizations, including Web Wise Kids, Hope Lab, ThanksUSA and the One Economy Corporation.”

The sold-out gala, which took place on Tuesday, October 13 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, honored Yves Guillemot, chairman and chief executive officer of Ubisoft®.
